ITANAGAR, May 25: A woman was buried alive in a mudslide that occurred on the Sarli-Damin road in Kurung Kumey district on Wednesday, while landslide wreaked havoc in capital city.
The woman, identified as Yangfo Yapai (40) a native of Lee village near Sarli, was on her way to collect firewood from the jungles beside the Sarli-Damin road when the incident occurred at around 2 pm.
She is survived by husband Yangfo Akak, four sons and three daughters.
The Yangfo Welfare Society has expressed sorrow over the death and offered condolence to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, the landslide triggered by heavy rainfall which had blocked traffic movement between Lobi Panchali and Panchali Senki View road here along with various drainage blockages between Naharlagun and Itanagar, was cleared by PWD on Thursday.

The DC further informed that citizens can report incidents of natural calamities such as drain blockages, flooding and landslides to the Emergency Operating Centre (EOC) at its toll free no 1077.
