ITANAGAR, Jun 10: The state Cabinet has approved two per cent dearness allowance (DA) to the state government employees besides all-India service officers, Central service officers on deputation to state government and pensioners.

The Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday decided to release the DA from January 1 this year, government spokesman Bamang Felix told reporters here on Saturday.

Felix, also the PHE and WS Minister, said the Cabinet also approved the Chief Minister Adarsh Gram Yojana 2017 under which a village in each constituency is to be transformed into a model village with specified norms.

“Under the scheme, each identified village will get Rs 1.50 crore,” he said.

“Emphasis of the scheme shall be to dovetail with all rural development Central and state schemes. The scheme shall not be contractor-driven but will involve all villagers and generate rural economy. Amendments as suggested are to be incorporated. The selection shall be by a committee consisting of the local MLA and the deputy commissioner,” he added.

Felix also said the Cabinet approved creation of various posts in the state police department, taking ahead its mission to fill critical manpower gaps.

Accordingly, he said, 45 posts of head constable drivers for fire and emergency services would be created, 32 posts of deputy superintendent of police under Arunachal Pradesh Public Service (APPS) cadre, 80 posts of inspector of civil police, four posts of inspector telecom and three posts of inspector radio technician would be created.

Felix had good news for the sacked Anganwadi employees of Tirap and Longding districts too. The Cabinet, he said, has decided to reinstate all the Anganwadi workers in the two districts who were terminated recently for certain administrative reasons.

“The Cabinet also decided to engage fresh Anganwadi workers wherever necessary. However, options were given to the Anganwadi workers to be replaced by a qualified kin as per norms in order to meet up the recruitment rules,” Felix added.
