ITANAGAR, May 13: The state BJP on Saturday lauded the ‘historic’ passage of GST bill in the State Legislative Assembly here on Friday stating that that it will greatly ease doing of business in a consumer state like Arunachal Pradesh.

While extending his heartiest congratulations to chief minister Pema Khandu for being the 12th state to pass the GST Bill in country, BJP state president Tapir Gao opined that the bill will enhance the revenue generation of the state as there will be no more leakages of tax.

The hassle of passing through tax and excise gates and the long delay in processing of VAT payment at the various entry points of the state will be thing of the past, said Gao.

Gao also expressed his deep appreciation to deputy chief minister Chowna Mein and his team of officers from the finance department for their hard work and tabling the GST bill in a record time.

Further, the party president also expressed his sincere congratulations for commencement of the Legislative Assembly from the new Assembly Building, the construction of which has been expedited by the Pema Khandu government.

Gao expressed his deep reverence and fond remembrance of former chief minister Late Dorjee Khandu for being the initiator of the Legislative Assembly and Civil Secretariat buildings.

Though Dorjee Khandu is not in our midst, the two colossal structures of State Legislative Assembly and Civil Secretariat will remain as monuments depicting his enduring contribution to the development of Arunachal Pradesh, said Gao.
