The AAPSU delegation on the occasion apprised the minister that the absence of regular directors in both the higher institutes of state have adversely affected the overall development of the institutes right from infrastructure development to academic pursuit.
Giving a patient hearing to the AAPSU request, Javedkar informed that the process of appointing regular directors has already been initiated. He said that there are certain laid down procedures for its appointment which will at least takes a month's time and assured that the directors would be posted within the stipulated time.
The union minister also told the delegation that as a first step, a new chairperson who is the officially responsible to look into appointments of directors has already been appointed.
In terms of infrastructure development of Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) and setting up of a regional CBSE office in Itanagar, the minister assured all possible help from its end.
The AAPSU team on the occasion also put forward the issue of renaming RGU to Arunachal University, to which Javedkar said that renaming issues brings lots of controversies.
He, however, assured that he would do the needful after consulting the matter with the state government.
