ITANAGAR, Mar 16: In a welcome move, Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly speaker T N Thongdok in consultation with education minister Honchun Ngadam has on Thursday constituted a committee to examine the Kameng Professional and Technical University of Arunachal Pradesh (KP&TUAP) Bill, 2017.
The committee which will be led by Ngadam as chairman consists of legislators Japu Deru, Kumsi Sidisow, Pani Taram and Mama Natung as members.
The state assembly on March 14 last had referred the Kameng Professional and Technical University Arunachal Pradesh Bill 2017 (Amended) to a select committee of the assembly to study its pros and cons of before being taken up in the house for consideration and passing. Education Minister Ngandam had introduced the Bill in the assembly on March 6 last.
On March 9 last, when the bill was taken up for discussion, many members suggested for amendment of the bill and speaker Thongdok on the advice of chief minister Pema Khandu had directed Ngandam to re-submit the bill in the floor of the assembly with necessary amendments in the clauses.
