Now, a serial on ‘Battle of Saragarhi’

Mumbai, May 28: A TV show, based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi, fought between British Indian Army and Afghan Orakzai tribesmen, is in works.
TV production house Contiloe Entertainment is working on the show for Discovery channel.
“We are working on ‘Battle of Saragarhi’. It is a fantastic story that India should watch. It is an inspiring story to watch. It is happening for Discovery channel,” Abhimanyu Singh of Contiloe Entertainment told PTI.
Abhimanyu says he cannot talk in detail about the show as it is in the initial stage and is likely to go on air in a couple of months.
There have been news of Ajay Devgn and Rajkumar Santoshi making a film on the ‘Battle of Saragarhi,’ while there were rumours that Akshay Kumar’s next film with Salman Khan and Karan Johar too is based on the similar subject.
In the past Abhimanyu has produced shows like “Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap” based on the life of Maharana Pratap and “Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat” that brought on screen the life of Ashoka, the third emperor of the Mauryan dynasty of India. PTI
