NGO gets four wheeler to tackle drug menace

AALO, Jun 11: A new Tata Sumo vehicle to assist Mothers’ Vision, an NGO to carry out its campaign against drugs and rehabilitation of drug addicts was on Sunday flagged off from its office here by former minister Doi Ado.

The NGO procured the vehicle when its team approached state governor P B Acharya for the same to carry out anti drug activities in the West Siang district. Accordingly, the governor donated Rs 4 lakh for the vehicle and the remaining amount garnered by the NGO.

Ado, in his address lauded the efforts of the women wing in containing drug menace; alcoholism and cleanliness drive in the district and expressed his gratitude to state governor for helping the Mothers’ Vision for such a noble cause.

Also present on the occasion was DMO Dr Nyage Geiyi, who too appreciated the efforts of the NGO and assured all cooperation from his side to take up issues related to drug and cleanliness in the town.

Mothers’ Vision chairman Jumde Gamlin in her short speech spelt out the role the NGO has been playing for the past two years and expressed their gratitude to the governor for helping them to carry forward their task with more commitments.
